probate family court

Probate is the legal process that takes place following someone’s passing. This is the court process of validating a will if you have one in place. However, it can also take place if there is no will. Additionally, this process is used to determine heirs of your estate, transferring assets to the beneficiaries/heirs, investigating will contests, and determining creditor claims.

Attorney Micah Hall provided effective and knowledgeable service. I was represented better than I expected.  Going through the probate process for the first time was nerve racking, but she explained the process in detail and calmed my nerves.  Attorney Hall fought hard to help me secure all the assets. I couldn’t have asked for a better law firm or attorney!”

From Micah…

I first started doing Probate at the Missouri State Attorney General’s Office in 2004 and quickly realized it was an area of law I wanted to focus on. Now with nearly 20 years of Probate experience, I’ve seen what happens when this process does and, more importantly, does not occur. Probate is the proactive way to avoid becoming tied up in costly litigation down the road. I’ve seen many people who’s lives were upended due to lack of planning – drowning in legal fees, losing relationships with loved ones, and draining far too much of their time. My goal is always to help my clients “know what they don’t know” and avoid the pitfalls I know will likely lie ahead of them without this process in place.
