Micah’s Story
My professional journey, like most, has had a few twists and turns. I’ve worked for a mid-sized private law firm, I’ve done civil litigation for government, I’ve been a municipal judge, the list goes on. Thankfully, early in my career I was lucky enough to have a front row seat to the estate planning and probate processes. These areas of law really spoke to me and I knew right away that focusing here would enable me to help the most people.
Each part of my professional journey has played an invaluable role in where I am now – running my own firm and practicing the areas of law I love most. My experience with probate and trust litigation provided a great foundation in understanding what documents are needed in order to avoid all the pocket-draining, time-stealing pitfalls of probate.
In short – I’ve seen what happens when people don’t plan or don’t have a plan that works. I am passionate about educating families and small businesses on the importance of estate planning so they can leave behind a legacy their loved ones will be proud to continue.
My “Why”
For me, the realization that I needed to establish my own firm formed from an aggregate of seemingly small moments…but they weren’t small at all. They were the moments that make up a lifetime. Being at my son’s soccer game and replying to work emails instead of being present and watching him play the game he loves. Taking a vacation and afterwards feeling like I hadn’t been on vacation…because I didn’t truly unplug from the stressors of my job. It got to the point that both myself and my family knew something had to change.
So, I made some changes and decided to focus on designing estate plans that really helped families and businesses assess what is important to them and protect it. I love that I get to focus on the areas of law that bring me true fulfillment.
